Ionzormi is an independent, non-commercial reference about shared community garden plots and allotments in Canada. It exists to make the practical side of community gardening easier to understand: how plot rentals and waitlists work, when to plant by region, how to prepare soil, and how neighbours organize a shared growing space.

What this site is

The content is editorial. Articles are compiled and summarized from publicly available municipal program documents and well-established horticultural references, then written in plain language. Where a detail comes from a specific program, that program is named and linked so readers can check the original.

What this site is not

  • It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any municipality, parks department or garden association.
  • It does not rent plots, manage waitlists, or process registrations.
  • It does not sell products or services.
Community garden rules differ by city and change between seasons. Before acting on anything here, confirm the current terms with your local garden coordinator or municipal parks department.

How content is prepared

Drafts begin with primary sources — the program guidelines and pages that municipalities publish — supplemented by general horticultural references for season and soil topics. Figures and exact dates are kept general where programs vary, and statistics or claims that cannot be traced to a public source are left out rather than estimated.
